Bonk’s Adventure, known as PC Genjin in Japan and PC Kid in Europe, is a scrolling platform game developed by Red Company and Atlus and released in 1989 in Japan and 1990 in North America for the PC Engine/TurboGrafx-16.
The rarity of Bonk’s Adventure is primarily due to the numerous versions and ports that make each skew more scarce than it would have been otherwise. The TurboGrafx-16 console was the original platform and, in fact, Bonk’s main focus. The odd Mario imitator starring a cave boy with a massive head was an afterthought by the time it was ported to the NES, and it was never widely distributed.
